What is Charity?
Narrated by 'Aadi ibn Hatim, may Allah be pleased with him, that: I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying:
"Save yourself from Hell-fire even by giving half a date-fruit in charity,
if you cannot find any then say a good word." -Muslim
Under the Five Pillars of Islam one thing we have to preform is Zakah. Zakah is the one obligatory form of charity that must be preformed in a Muslims' life time whether it is during Ramadan and Eid.
Yet, this isn't the only form of charity people can preform. Many people may think that they're too young to give charity but this is
FALSE!
Anyone can give charity, young or old. Charity is defined as any voluntary action providing support, typically financially, to those in need. Charity can be anything from donating $1,000,000 for the Red Cross to a simple word of encouragement or a smile. Rather than saying that you can't give charity because you are "too young" or "don't have any money to give", give your time, or even a simple good word, back to your community.
